A Scottish outing

Abbeyfield Oxford resident Sally passed away recently rather suddenly and quietly. Along she was a fairly new member, she had quickly charmed everyone with her enthusiasm and style.

Fellow resident Tony went to Sally’s memorial celebration at the Cove Sailing Club on the shores of Loch Long, Argyll, Scotland, along with Sally’s friends, children, and grandchildren. Tony was met at the station and made welcome by some of Sally’s many friends.

Sally lived in the area for 17 years and was a keen sailor. The club is the home of the Loch Long One wooden keel racing boatboat%20in%20colquhouns

Sally’s children and past and present commodores paid tribute to Sally. She served as club secretary and was instrumental as a fundraiser for a new jetty. One story from a former commodore was of sailing Sally’s boat on a slightly hair-raising trip to Greece.

In her professional life, Sally was a partner at a St Albans solicitors, where she led the Family Law practice.

Tony reported a very good atmosphere with plenty of food! Afterwards Sally’s son Sam kindly took Tony to his hotel
