Jim and family walk for Parkinson’s

On Sunday morning October 25th our chair of trustees Jim Heywood and his wife Sue, together with Richard, Jo and their son Elijah will be taking part as a family in the Oxford Parkinson’s walk http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/content/walk-parkinsons-oxford/

Jim and Richard will be walking 8 miles whilst Jo, Elijah and Sue hope to complete 4 miles. All of the money raised from this event will go to the Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Centre (OPDC) http://opdc.medsci.ox.ac.uk/home to help fund their research.

Jim says “As a family we have been doing what we can to raise money towards Parkinson’s research. We are a mixture of abilities. Richard has run three ultra marathons this year and has raised over £2,300. Sue is walking, but is also a volunteer in the Parkinson’s research programmes being conducted by the OPDC. Jo is a reasonably fit mother and I am a frequent walker; Elijah is nearly two, so he will need some carrying or wheeling but will add cheerfulness and chuckles to the occasion.”

You can support Jim and family via the Just Giving page which Richard has set up and see his story at http://justgiving.com/oxfordwalk2015/
