Lord Mayor opens Garden Party

On a lovely sunny Saturday in June, we were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Oxford to open our annual garden party and to meet residents.  Guests then enjoyed dancing from the children of the Oxford Thai Dance School and conversation with friends new and old, along with the wonderful refreshments laid on by Chaowadee and the house staff.  A thoroughly memorable day.

April 2010

Just one week before the 50th AGM of the Abbeyfield Oxford Society, in April, we received the sad news of the death of our longest serving Trustee, Christine Martin.  Christine had been involved with the Abbeyfield Oxford Society since its earliest days, and was a Trustee for a remarkable 42 years! Residents, staff and trustees would like to send sincere condolences to Christine’s family at this sad time.  It is hoped to plant a special bush in the garden over the summer as part of our commemorations.

Old and new join the board

We are pleased to welcome back Jim Wade as a Trustee and also welcome Alison Dalton as a new Trustee of the Society.
