On Thursday 13 February, we gathered in the lounge at Brian Lewis House to bid a fond farewell and offer our best wishes to Cath Greehy. During her two years as our Administrative Officer, Cath became an integral part of the BLH “happy family” as she worked tirelessly and harmoniously to support the residents, staff and trustees.
Hester spoke on behalf of the trustees, offering thanks and appreciation; John (pictured here with Cath) made some amusing as well as serious comments from the residents’ perspective; and Chaowadee expressed the fondness and gratitude the staff felt towards Cath. It was a sad and emotional time for Cath herself as she expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support, and for the flowers and leaving presents. Regaining her composure, she told us how much she’d enjoyed working here, and joked that it was a job that kept her fit, thanks to the need to commute from the kitchen on the ground floor to her office at the top of the house, many times a day!
With the formalities over, everyone had a chance to give her their personal good wishes as we enjoyed a light buffet which Chaowadee had been kind enough to prepare. We will all miss Cath’s bubbling personality and helpful nature, as well as the professionalism she brought to her job – she will be a hard act to follow.
