Residents, trustees and friends met at Abbeyfield Oxford’s Brian Lewis House for a glass of sherry and delicious snacks made by the staff, before our annual Christmas lunch. Rob, one of the trustees, reflected on the year, and welcomed new staff and residents. Tony replied on behalf of the residents, and thanked everyone who had helped residents enjoy their year at Brian Lewis House. We then walked to the nearby La Cucina Italian restaurant for a most enjoyable Christmas lunch.
We had a good choice from a festive menu, washed down with a glass or two of wine, water, or soft drinks for the abstemious among us. Everyone seemed to enjoy crackers with silly jokes and paper hats, and even kept them on briefly. This was our largest gathering to date, with about 25 people.
