I moved into Abbeyfield Oxford’s Brian Lewis House sheltered accommodation on Wed 20th August. The next day some of the trustees, staff and residents drove to nearby Henley-on-Thames for a boat-trip. It was a warm, sunny day.
The boat, from Riverside Boat Trust, is specially designed to accommodate small groups of elderly, disabled, or handicapped adults and children. We were given a short talk about the boat and the trip we were to take- a leisurely pace and a running commentary from the driver about the various houses and places of interest along the way. We safely navigated the Marsh lock, then turned after an hour for the return journey. Coffee was served, then a long table erected for us to enjoy the delicious food provided by the staff at Brian Lewis House.
We disembarked an hour later and were back home by 3pm. It was a very pleasant outing, much enjoyed by us all
