A Lovely Day Out on the Thames
Time for messing about on the river. This social event item has been inserted in the body of the web site (under the Brian Lewis House menu item) as well as here in the News and Events column because it’s becoming something of an annual feature of summer life at Brian Lewis House.
On the first day of September, the staff and trustees took the residents for a lovely day out cruising on a spacious, purpose-designed 42-foot boat named Rivertime on the river Thames in Henley.
Luckily the weather stayed fine and no rain coats were needed, in fact the sun came out to spotlight the scenery. There was something for everyone, wildlife for those with an interest in nature, beautiful views for the budding artists and splendid houses for those of us with aspirations!
One of our residents who moved to us from Henley said she had seen parts of her former home she had never seen before.
We were well looked after by Lucy our skipper and her crew. Chaowadee, our house manager, and her team provided a lovely picnic lunch which was washed down with some homemade elderflower cordial.
The car journey home was a mixture of excited chatter or gentle purring.
