Abbeyfield Oxford are seeking Trustees to join our board

Trustees are responsible for all aspects of the operations of the house, and the board meets six times a year, as well as participating in events and resident activities when able. The present board have expertise in a wide variety of fields, but the responsibilities we all share include being sensitive to the feelings of older people, a duty to keep our residents safe, providing an environment where they can meet socially and avoid loneliness while maintaining their sense of independence.

The trustees supervise and support the house manager and her team, and an administration manager. The role of the trustees is to consider how best to run the house and its operations and to deal impartially with sometimes conflicting issues. The work is serious and unpaid but enjoyable and extremely rewarding.

If you would be interested in joining our board, we ask for details of experience and suitability, and we would be pleased to discuss further the way we work and the responsibilities of charity trustees. To get in touch, could you please click this Contact Us link and fill in the Contact Form (part way down that page) – putting the words Trustee Vacancy in the Subject box.
