The House and its Setting
Originally the St Clements Rectory, Brian Lewis House is a handsome Victorian home, recently upgraded and extended. In a conservation area, the house is central, calm, but not secluded. It has a lovely, well-maintained garden, patio area, and a new purpose-built conservatory. There’s also ample parking space for residents’ own cars, visitors, or taxis.
Frequent buses pass the door and reach the main shops, library, railway station, covered market, museums, colleges, botanic gardens, hospital, and other local attractions in only 5 minutes. The excellent X90 and Oxford Tube buses from the bus stop outside the house also go to central London and Heathrow frequently, both day and night!
Oxford’s South Park is a few minutes’ walk away, occupying 50 acres of open space, with magnificent views overlooking the city.
The full postal address of Brian Lewis House is given on our Contact Us page. We are located at 80 St. Clements, just east of Oxford city centre – the first turning on the left across Magdalen Bridge. The road is the first section of the A420 towards Headington and London. The House is about a mile from Oxford’s railway station, and is marked in red on both the wide-area and local-area maps on the right (click the maps to enlarge).
From the ring road, St. Clements is accessible via Iffley Road (A4158) and Cowley Road (B480) which join at “The Plain”, just by Magdalen College School and also via Headington Road, which is a continuation of the A420 from London.
From the M40, St Clements is best reached by turning off at junction 8.
