The Abbeyfield Oxford Society provides a home and services at Brian Lewis House to help people live well in later life. It encourages independence, choice, and self-fulfilment.

We provide comfortable private accommodation for older people in the centre of Oxford, with the companionship of others. Friendly and professional staff take care of domestic chores and provide a variety of home cooked meals. Our residents keep up an active, independent life in security and comfort, and contribute to the social life of the community as they wish, attending and organising events or maybe enjoying a spot of gardening.

The handsome converted rectory in St Clements is near shops and other amenities, and accessible by bus to the City Centre, Headington, and London, and residents get out and about regularly. Click here to read more about the house and its setting.

Abbeyfield Oxford’s sheltered housing gives residents the independence of having their own private room and en suite, with the security of having an alarm system and a team of dedicated staff providing day-to-day services. It has a shared dining room, sitting room, conservatory, large garden, laundry, and a lift.

The Abbeyfield way of life

Abbeyfield Oxford’s Brian Lewis House operates on a not-for-profit basis, with the clear aim of providing older people with homely accommodation, support, and companionship. Each Abbeyfield home offers a good balance of privacy, independence, and caring support on an all-in basis for a reasonable price. A support network from local volunteers makes a massive difference to residents in a way no commercial organisation can do: spending time with people is what volunteers in Abbeyfield are all about.
